Well, no, not really. But due to the virus, my boyfriend is working from home, and it affects my daily routine more than I thought it would. I can do most of my usual stuff, but concentrating is hard when I can hear him talking on the phone all the time. So what’s been happening this entire time? Not much, yet also quite a lot.
First off, I play a whole lot of FFXIV now. I know I played a lot before, but now it’s basically all I do while he’s working. I’m leveling a whole lot of classes, got back into Triple Triad and card collecting, am going for a ton of MGP so I can get the last mount from the Saucer; Typhon, and overall just sit and play for the sake of having something to do that keeps me from listening to weird customer conversations. I also got married in-game, of course to my boyfriend since we now play together, and it’s much easier to do that when we got a ring that teleports us to each other and a 2 seater mount that lets us travel together. So, yay!
I also managed to spend a lot of money on hobby stuff, starting out with alcohol markers and paper. When this whole quarantine thing started, it was originally for 2 weeks only, and I thought I could concentrate on drawing some more. I was wrong. About both things. However, I did manage to make an ugly drawing of my FFXIV character that I will have to fix and colorize at some point. I got both markers and coloring pencils, and have plans for both, but they are for the fair, and it’s looking really grim for this year’s events.
Both the June and the July fairs have been canceled, and the August one is still in danger of going the same route. I can’t attend the August one anyway, but it’s quite the disaster overall. I just hope that the Christmas fair in November is still going to be held, since it’s so nice to be there at that time of the year, and it’s obviously also the time of year where people spend a lot of money. Anyway, due to the fair not happening this summer, I don’t feel the need to craft that much, since I can’t display and sell it, nor do I have the space for more crafts.
This doesn’t mean that I’ll be lazy, or at least that’s not what I plan to be. I bought myself a Carpe Diem journal, and am ready to fill it with goodies! Yes, I’m starting up a bullet journal. I don’t want to waste a ton of money on paper and inserts though, so I’ve printed my own, and am ready to cut and punch them into the right shape. I plan on tracking my hobbies, cooking, goals and of course to-do’s. I’m a little tired of having my notes on the phone and internet only, and I want to go a little offline and keep all those things in one spot from now on. It’s also a good way to stay creative, which is something I need a bit more of.
While ordering some colored gel pens to use in my new journal, I also got a price tag punch and a surprise jewelry parts box from Panduro. While the pens and the punch were as expected, the surprise box was disappointing to say the least. I’m aware that when it’s a surprise, I have no say in what I get, but when I order a bling box instead of their Elements box, I expect bling and not, well, Elements. My son also got a box in the same shipping, also a box that was supposed to be full of bling, but we both got almost exactly the same stuff, and it wasn’t anything I’d call bling. There were 2 Elements boxes in each of them, a lot of both thick and thin cord, leather cord and even some wooden plates of some sort. Again, I get that it’s completely random, but the stuff we got is barely something we can use in creating jewelry, and since the kid doesn’t use cord at all, I’m stuck with all the cord from both boxes, which is quite a LOT! So whatever bling was actually in the boxes, I ended up giving to him in order to at least make him happy, since he spent his own money on it. Very disappointing, and not something I’ll ever buy again from Panduro, nor something I’d recommend to others who shop from them.
As a last thing, I got to collect a lot of sea glass some days ago. We were out for a 4 hour long walk, and there was so much glass at the beach that I could have stayed all day. If it wasn’t for my poor thighs hurting and burning from the many squats I inevitably make every time I need to pick up a piece of glass. I still can barely walk after that trip, and complain every time I stand up, haha. But it was worth it. I already boiled the pieces, and there are so many pretty ones. However, I stopped keeping all the pretty pieces, and instead bag them to sell at the fair. They are good for decorating, and I’m sure that there will be at least a moderate amount of interest. It’s good to have items that make people stop up and wonder, even if they don’t buy something immediately.
That’s all from me right now. I just wanted to write something, seeing as it’s been quite a while since my last post. It’s just so weird right now, but I hope we all get through it. Stay safe, stay inside if possible, and remember that we are all in this together, even if we need to stay apart right now.
